And so it begins…
Here we are. Finally got the website up. It’s still a work in progress but it will soon be filled with all of our products. We are so happy to get this up and running. It seems like we are constantly creating and not a lot of places to show it off. Sure we do the craft fairs in town but there are not that many. We do have a few things in a local store but it’s still not enough. So here we go.
Tony is gearing up to do his tie dye. He has to shut it down for the winter months. It requires a lot of room to do it. And it is not so nice here in the winter. Between the rain and snow, not to mention the temperature, it’s hard for him to get any of it to work. It all has to have heat. So he is getting in his happy place again. He has also decided to do some things with glass, alcohol ink and driftwood. I won’t go into what he is doing quite yet.
Josh has been busy with his crafts. Lots of laser printing. Now, let me tell you about his process. When he gets an idea, he first has to bring it to life on his computer. Sometimes that can take up to 36 - 72 hours, depending on the detailed it is. Once he has that all done then it goes to his laser. He spends a lot of time in this process, normally takes up to 28 hours for one picture. Making sure that it fits onto his wood and how it will come out. He also does wood burning on these as well. He likes to have definition in each one. And while he is doing that, I always have something that I need him to make for my gnomes, which he does without any question.
Finally, my name is Lori. My husband calls me the crazy gnome lady. I make all kinds of gnomes, such as Santa Claus, viking, flower girl, football, baseball and angel gnomes. I love making them and I do get orders from a lot of people. Especially, angel gnomes. Those I do for my customers that have recently lost a loved one. All that I ask for is a piece of clothing from the departed to incorporate into the gnome. This way its more personable. Ever since retiring, which I am glad I did, it gives me great joy to work on them. I come up with different ideas and have to make one. It’s very rewarding.
Anyway, we are planning to write a weekly blog about what we have been doing and will let you know the new things that are coming out. So stay tuned……
Be happy, enjoy life and call a loved one and let them know you care!!

It was definitely a very busy summer! We were down at the market 3-4 days a week. It is always great to see all the cruise ships come in. Love to meet new people and hope to give them a great experience in our little town. Whether it’s giving directions, telling them where locals eat, explaining about what our market is all about or showing them our products. We have a lot on our table, but we want to make sure to give them a choice of what to get. One of the things that always is a question on their mind is, will this fit into my luggage? We have them covered. We offer shipping so they won’t have that worry. It’s pretty reasonably priced and it’s great way to ease their minds.
Tony still has his tie dye and he just started getting into transfers. He has been looking into doing our own designs, so that requires more equipment. We are investing into a new printer and also a new style press. He has been so busy learning how to do different things with it. But it will be a welcome addition to our store. So be watching on Facebook, our website and Instagram for pictures of what he is doing.
Josh has been unbelievably busy as well. Seems like we couldn’t keep coasters in stock. Continually making more each day. But he is also expanding what he does. He has added smaller laser art for the customers as well as new ornaments. He has also added new designs and they all look amazing. So watch for all his things that are coming out.
As far as I go, I am working on a bunch of gnomes the three days that we are home. Always getting orders, and it’s hard to keep up with them. But I really don’t mind it. I love making gnomes and makes me happy to get them to our customers. Most of the time I started making three at a time with the same fabric. This gives the customer a choice of what they really want. I don’t mind adding things to a gnome. Just makes them cuter. And now that football season is here, I am knee deep in fabric. When a gnome is ordered, I usually have to wait for fabric to come in via US mail. We have a couple of stores in town that carry fabric but not NFL, NBA, NHL or any other league. So it’s a waiting game.
Anyway, please watch our store for more updates and products. We are going to be adding quite a bit since we weren’t able to add anything this summer. And a lot of our products are reasonably priced.
